Summer is a season of fun and excitement, especially for children. It’s a time when they can explore their interests, learn new skills, and create memories that will last a lifetime. However, not all children have access to the same opportunities. For some families, summer can be a challenging time financially, and finding ways to keep their children entertained can be a struggle. This is where INPS benefits for children come in . These benefits can make a significant difference in young people’s lives by giving them the opportunity to participate in activities they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.
Introduction to INPS benefits for children
INPS (Istituto Nazionale della Previdenza Sociale) is the agency that manages social security in Italy. It offers a wide range of benefits to its members, including those for children. INPS benefits for children are designed to help families meet the daily expenses associated with raising and caring for their children. These benefits can be especially helpful during the summer months, when parents may find it difficult to find ways to keep their children occupied and entertained.
Only those eligible to register with the Unified Management of Credit and Social Benefits can register their children or orphans for benefits.
This includes the children of Public Administration employees or pensioners, as well as retired users of the Public Employees Management system.
Through the Summer Centers call, the Institute awards a grant that covers all or part of the costs incurred by children attending a summer day center in Italy from June to September.
To participate in the call for applications for summer day camps, beneficiaries are required to register through the welfare services access procedure .
How to apply for INPS benefits
To apply for INPS benefits for children, families must submit an application to INPS. The application can be submitted online or at an INPS office. It is important to provide all the information requested in the application and submit all required documents. If you have any questions or concerns, families can contact INPS for assistance.
Recipients of the grant for participation in the summer camp receive coverage for all or part of the expenses incurred, from one week (five days) to four weeks (20 days), even if the duration is not consecutive.
The contribution amount is determined based on the family’s ISEE value, which is a percentage of the lower of the maximum contribution established by the call for applications and the weekly cost of the summer camp.
The organization of the summer camp
During the summer break from school, a selected candidate will organize a summer camp with the help of a single provider. All expenses related to scheduled recreational and sports activities, food, outings, insurance, and everything else related to the program will be covered by the grant. The primary goal of the summer camp is to make effective use of the children’s free time.
To ensure the safety and well-being of young people with disabilities , the summer camp must comply with hygiene and safety standards, have accessible facilities for the distribution and consumption of prepackaged single-serving meals, and provide equipped and accessible indoor spaces, restrooms, green areas, and first aid services. Furthermore, the center’s organizational structure must include qualified management, education, assistance, and administration personnel who meet the standards required to serve young people with disabilities, according to current legislation.
INPS recognizes contributions of up to €3,000, with a weekly maximum of €100, for a total of four weeks (which may or may not be consecutive).
Enrollment in the “Access to Support Services” program – One-click application and user credentials for applicants
- If the cardholder’s beneficiary is not listed in the National Institute of Social Security (INPS) database, the cardholder is required to register them under the “Access to Welfare Services” program. This program allows for hassle-free application for all types of social benefits.
- After registration, applicants must wait five working days before starting the application process for the call.
- To access the “Access to Welfare Services” program and participate in the call for applications, applicants must have at least one authentication system such as SPID, CIE, or CNS. The PIN has been eliminated as of October 1, 2021, except for citizens residing abroad without an Italian identity document.
- INPS services are accessible with currently accepted alternative authentication systems, including SPID, CIE, and CNS. Applicants can obtain login credentials from the “Access to Services” section at the top left of the website www.inps.it.
It is important to review this information to access the services you need.
ISEE certification
To access the benefit, the applicant must have previously submitted the Single Substitute Declaration (DSU) to determine the ISEE (ordinary or minor), if applicable. The ISEE certification can be obtained by submitting the DSU to INPS or other authorized bodies.
The ISEE certification for the beneficiary’s family unit is important for compiling the ranking and determining the contribution amount. It is necessary to obtain the 2022 ISEE certification, unless it has already been obtained, in which case it will be automatically recognized by INPS.
The user must ensure the declaration is complete and accurate, and any corrections must be made by the competent office within 15 days of the application deadline. If the valid single substitute declaration is submitted before the application submission date, the system will not consider ISEE values acquired after the application submission date.
The Institute declares itself not responsible for any transmission errors or omissions in the ISEE declaration by affiliated entities.
To confirm their ISEE certification, individuals can check the “Track the Application Process” feature in the designated Online Services portal. This feature will display the words “ISEE Certificate” as proof of certification.

Applicants will receive notification of their application outcome via SMS or email (not certified email) and must log in to the reserved area of the “Summer Camps” procedure to view the results.

The Institute will verify the database update within 90 days.
The Institute reserves the right to verify the accuracy of the declarations at any point during the procedure. Providing false information will result in the revocation of the benefit, the refund of benefits, and penalties.
By the date indicated in the announcement, the Institute will publish the rankings of candidates conditionally admitted to the competition on its website www.inps.it.
The rankings will be determined using a computerized process that will prioritize candidates based on their ISEE value.
Orphans or those treated as such will have absolute priority, followed by disabled people within a limit of 500 places .
Applicants with disabilities who do not qualify for conditional admission will be ranked based on their ISEE value without any priority.
The rankings will be published in a dedicated section on the official website.
Requirements for those admitted with reservations
To be considered for the benefit of the summer camp, the applicant is required to follow a specific procedure .
The procedure requires completing a section titled “Summer Camp” with information on the organizing organization and the individual weeks of attendance with the related tuition costs.
Additionally, the applicant must upload a copy of a document certifying enrollment in a summer camp that meets the requirements described above, along with a statement verifying compliance with the eligibility criteria.
The benefit is granted conditionally based on the ranking.
To complete the process, you must submit a duplicate invoice in the applicant’s name under the “Invoice” category. The amount must correspond to the full cost of the summer camp, which can last from a minimum of one week (five days) to a maximum of four weeks (20 days). The invoice must include the total amount of costs incurred and must also indicate the cost for each week charged.
If the organizer is not legally required to provide an invoice, an alternative document confirming the sale or provision of the service to the applicant must be provided.
To verify your documentation, you must use the “Send data to INPS” function button. Failure to meet the requirements and meet the deadlines indicated in the previous paragraphs will result in the candidate’s disqualification and permanent exclusion from the competition.
Amount of the contribution and method of payment
The grant awarded to the applicant is based on the actual expenses incurred.
If the applicant has been reimbursed, he/she must declare the expenses actually incurred.
The subsidy amount will be determined as a percentage of the lower of the maximum allowable contribution (€100 per week) and the weekly cost of the summer camp incurred by the applicant. The amount will be calculated based on the ISEE value of the household.
In order to provide additional financial support to young people with severe or very severe disabilities during their stay at a summer day center, the contribution will be increased by 50% .
To benefit from this increase, the increase box must be checked in the data section of the center’s file and the expenses must be documented on the final invoice.
Important : Days spent at the summer day center outside the period indicated in the announcement will not be considered for the purposes of eligibility for the grant.
